In July 2020，Employees of GOURMAID donate to Cheng du Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. It will used to fund the research of giant pandas, the breeding of giant pandas, and the conservation education of giant pandas.
Why do we protect pandas？
The charismatic giant panda is a global conservation icon . Thanks to decades of successful conservation work, wild panda numbers are starting to recover, but they remain at risk. Human activities continue to be the biggest threats to their survival. An extensive giant panda nature reserve network exists, but one-third of all wild pandas live outside of protected areas in small isolated populations.
Pandas typically lead a solitary life. They’re excellent tree climbers, but they spend most of their time feeding. They can eat for 14 hours a day, mainly bamboo, which is 99% of their diet (though they sometimes eat eggs or small animals too).
How can we protect pandas？
Donate to the Giant Panda Breeding or the Panda Reserves
1. Protect the forest or habitat of the Giant Pandas.
2. Provide corridors for Giant Panda migrations between habitat areas.
3. Patrol the reserves to prevent poaching and logging.
4. Patrol the reserves to search for sick or injured Giant Pandas.
5. Take sick or injured Giant Pandas to nearest panda hospital for care.
6. Conduct research on Giant Panda behavior, mating, breeding, diseases, etc.
7. Educate tourists and visitors about Giant Panda protection.
8. Support communities adjacent to the reserves to minimize the need to use the 9. Giant Panda habitat for their livelihood.
10. Educate local residents about the value of conserving the Giant Pandas and how tourism to the region is beneficial.
